What happens
when the box arrives.
My 11-year-old spent three hours on a Tuesday afternoon sectioning her own pond water. She didn't ask to watch TV once. The diatom slide from January is pinned above her desk.
I've built two telescopes and a Van de Graaff generator from kits. Those felt like following instructions. The Lab Pro box feels like doing actual research. The field journal changed how I write observations.
I've been collecting specimens from the Winooski River for two years but had no idea how to prepare slides properly. The reagent kit and the printed protocol card were exactly what I needed. I sectioned cattail stem last weekend.
